·         Salary range: $18-$20, depending on hours, role (classroom teacher or float), and experience, if any

·         Hours of work:  The Goddard School in Middleton is open from 7am-6pm, Monday-Friday. We are a full-year school. Available full-time hours are 8am-5pm, 8:30am-5:30pm, and 9am-6pm. Available part-time hours are 12pm-6pm, 1pm-6pm, 2pm-6pm, or 3pm-6pm. 

Our assistant teachers are integral part of the childcare teaching team that encourages a positive learning environment for all children within the School. Responsibilities include the following:

·         Establishing and maintaining a safe, healthy, and nurturing learning environment

·         Supporting each child’s social and emotional development

·         Establishing positive relationships with family

·         If assigned to a classroom, working as a co-teacher to equally share in classroom responsibilities to include day-to-day care as well as curriculum and activities

 

Qualifications 

·         High school diploma or GED required, OR

·         At least 16 years of age and enrolled in school.

·         Able to communicate effectively with children, parents, and faculty;

·         Shows empathy and compassion for young children;

·         Is dependable and reliable;

·         Willingness to learn and desire to have a career in Early Childhood Education;

·         Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations. For Infant and Young Toddler Teachers, must be able to properly lift infants into and out of a crib. Able to supervise children by sight and sound at all times.
